Introduction

The entire population of Togo is at high risk of malaria. The annual reported number of malaria cases in 2010 was 617,101 with 1,507 deaths.

Progress

Togo has taken steps to ban oral artemisinin-based monotherapies and removed tariffs on ACTs, RDTs and LLINs. The country has introduced policies for Community Case Management of malaria and pneumonia. Togo continues to make progress in key MNCH interventions, with high coverage in DPT3 vaccinations and exclusive breast feeding. For 2012, there are outstanding commodity gaps which need to be filled.
